Athens Day 1, 2 Acropolis Museum and Zeus Temple!!

I flew to Athens with a 5 hour layover at Dubai.
By the time I arrived it was 4pm Athens time and I was super tired.
I should have slept but the Acropolis Museum was opened till 8pm!
So no time to waste!

Inside they didn't allow people to take pics. This is what I could do.
It's small replica of what you would've saw in the Parthenon arch front and back.

I did manage to take some photos of the real Parthenon as a warm up.

The museum was awesome! One of the best museums I have ever seen.
Most people only need to spend an 1 hour there but I look at every piece so it took me 1 hour and a half.
The best parts are the pieces that used to be in the Parthenon arches.
And, my personal fav is The Caryatids from the south porch of the Erechtheion.(http://www.theacropolismuseum.gr/en/content/erechtheion)
Seeing them up close was just amazing!!

Next day I started my exploration of Athens for real.
I went to Temple of Olympian Zeus. Before entering the site I got to see Hadrians Arch.

To enter sites like Zeus temple, you need to buy tickets first.
You can buy a grand ticket that allows you to enter the 7 major sites that includes,
Ancient Agora, South slope of the Acropolis (Theater of Dionysos),
North slope of the Acropolis, Roman Agora, Kerameikos, Temple of Olympian Zeus, and Hadrian's Library.

Even though Zeus Temple has only few columns left, it was still amazing.
If you get to travel back in time and see it as you should have. You will be in awe!!
